Fundamental motor skills

Choose one locomotors (moving), non-locomotors (stationary) or manipulative skill that would be developmentally appropriate to teach each group.

2yrs

Teach them how to run much easier and move around without supporting themselves on the furniture.

This will involve small movement i9n the classroom which can be achieved by ensuring that the furniture are spaced out in small distances at first. This will ensure that in order to get to place to place they will have to walking around without supporting themselves.

3yrs

Teach them how to hold things without dropping them.

At this stage and age the child has to be able to hold things and in order to assist them in holding the objects building blocks will be essential at it will teach them to be subtle and gentle and calculative.

4yrs

Teach them how to move objects by throwing them and maintain body balance as such they won’t be falling down when playing.

This is achieved by telling them to throw balls as they are standing in one place and ensuring that they don’t move from the step as and after they throw. This will ensure stability in their movement.

5yrs

Involve them in games that require drastic movement such as soccer or football and also some athletics.

This is achieved by using footballs and soccer balls in order to assist them in running around while at the same time ensuring that they have a socio connection to each other.

6yrs

Involve them in art work and reading events.

The art work will be through drawing certain objects and reading books which are meant for children which will assist in their motor and cognitive development.
