PowerPoint Presentation Instructions
For your final assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation that highlights your favorite learning experiences within the following categories: Academic Research and Writing, Affective Learning, and Technology. Doing so will allow you to practice your ability to use reflection as a means of learning and develop academic-level presentations. This assignment will be completed in Microsoft PowerPoint ONLINE and will be submitted as a PDF and shareable link, along with your self-graded rubric. (Syllabus MLO: B and Module 8 LOs: 1, 2. Depending on chosen subtopics, Syllabus MLOs: A, C, D, E, and F may also be met.)
To create your PowerPoint presentation, follow these instructions:
-
Create a title slide that includes: the title of your presentation, your name and student ID, the course name and section number, and your instructor’s name.
-
Choose 1 learning experience or skill from each of the 3 provided categories: Academic Research and Writing, Affective Learning, and Technology.

After choosing the 3 topics, consider how to make your presentation both attractive and interesting. You will choose an appropriate, effective background and professional font and use what you have learned about PowerPoint to add images and animation without using them excessively.
-
Create an introduction slide that lets your audience know the 3 topics you have selected from each category and your reasons for selecting them.
-
On a new slide, explain what you learned about the first learning experience/skill and why you found it to be beneficial.
-
On a new slide, explain what you learned about the second learning experience/skill and why you found it to be beneficial.
-
On a new slide, explain what you learned about the third learning experience/skill and why you found it to be beneficial.
-
On a new slide, create a conclusion that summarizes the main points of your presentation and provides a final application.
-
On the last slide, provide a list of any references, formatted in current APA, that you used to create your presentation (your textbook, the Bible, etc.).
After you have completed your PowerPoint presentation, you must have a total of 7 slides (no more and no less).
Be sure to go through the final steps of the SOW AND REAP process found in Chapter 9 of your textbook:
Draft the assignment.
Revise the assignment to improve content, organization, style, etc.
Edit your writing, focusing on spelling, punctuation, and grammar mistakes.
Ask a trusted friend or loved one to read and review your assignment.
Prepare the final draft by implementing any recommended changes.
Evaluate your work by “grading” yourself using the rubric provided. You will submit both the PowerPoint and the rubric as part of this assignment.
Once you have completed your PowerPoint presentation, save the file both as a PDF and as a shareable Microsoft Office 365 link. Review the “Introduction to PowerPoint Online” presentation (found in the Reading & Study folders of both Module/Week 7 and Module/Week 8) for instructions on sharing your presentation online.
Finally, follow these steps:
-
Submit the PowerPoint as a PDF file
-
Paste the shareable link in the “Comments” textbox (located right beneath where you will attach the PDF file)
-
Attach the completed rubric as a .doc or .docx file as well
Submit these three items by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Friday of Module/Week 8.
