Use one of the templates below to develop will create your own topic, keywords and research question to use throughout the course and for your Final Project, the annotated bibliography.
You can use any topic of your choice except Climate Change since that is one we’ve been using as an example (if you want to focus on another aspect of climate change, feel free to ask me for permission). Do you have a paper for another class this semester? You can use that topic as long as your instructor allows internet sources. Pick something that interests you, something you’re curious about. Don’t forget about the topic helpers we talked about earlier in the lesson. Remember, you will use this topic for the remainder of the lessons.
Now provide a clear and concise thesis statement based on the what? and why? of your topic research question. A thesis statement is a straightforward sentence stating your thesis. Do not write a paragraph in support of your thesis. (3pts)

Use a Concept Map
A concept map can help you organize concepts central to your research topic. Here are some questions to ask about your topic:
What are the most important words in your topic?
What do you already know about the topic?
Are there synonyms or alternate words that can be used as keywords (e.g., Global warming? and climate change?)
Your answers to these and other questions can then be “mapped” out. Here are some concept map elements that can help you create a topic research question:
