It is important to first have a deeper understanding of what role the government have on health care and how this can affect our nation overall. Think about a time you have been sick and required medical care from a doctor or other health care provider. Have you really ever thought about your own personal involvement in your care in regards to crucial or key areas such as: patient's rights, discussing medically appropriate treatment options, patient privacy, and patient's ability to pay for services rendered, coordination of care, or federal regulations/policies? In our society today, many Americans are still without health care coverage due to their inability to pay or afford it. The rising cost of health care remains a critical issue for our nation and tends to steadily increase each and every year. Discussion #1 Question focused on how to promote a healthy lifestyle and educate students/parents in a school setting on how to prevent unhealthy habits by utilizing early interventions as indicated in Healthy People 2020. How can Healthy People 2020 promote reducing health care costs as a means to ensure Americans are provided efficient delivery of medical care services and explain how can it continue to improve health care for the future to come?
