You have learned about the purpose of social work research, how to identify scholarly sources, and how to critically analyze those sources. Now, you will apply that knowledge in the Annotated Bibliography Assignment. In this assignment, you will build upon your previously completed work, including topic selection, identified problem, and developed research question. The purpose of this assignment is to help you engage with the existing research related to your proposed topic. This will allow you to demonstrate your ability to identify peer-reviewed sources, analyze their content, and evaluate their contributions to the topic, the field of social work, and the literature as a whole. Successful completion of this assignment will demonstrate that you can engage with the existing literature and identify how it shapes the foundation for your proposed research. The annotated bibliography should include at least 5 peer-reviewed sources that are no older than 5 years. These sources must relate to the identified topic and proposed research question. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are not permitted for this assignment.

1. Select 5 Peer-Reviewed Sources related to the research topic and question. Sources must be scholarly, peer-reviewed, and published within the last 5 years. These must be original research studies, not systematic reviews or meta-analyses.

b. Evaluate the source by discussing how it contributes to the literature, the topic, and the field of social work. Discuss the gaps in the literature that the study addresses and any remaining gaps that support the need for the proposed research. Evaluate the strengths and limitations of the study.
4. Use APA 7th edition guidelines for formatting and referencing.
