Q1 (brothers)

Some of you may be assigned to your School Improvement Team (SIT), and some of you may be following the directives of your SIT. I want us to pull this back to the classroom level. Identify an area for improvement in your classroom. This can be academic or behavioral. Why does it matter? What data will you use to identify and communicate about the issue? Who will you enlist to support you? What are some possible short term objectives you could work toward? Long term objectives? How will you measure success?

**If you are not in a classroom, feel free to discuss an area of improvement you know is a reality in our schools, or reach out to me for ideas

Describe the media and the working process that each artist uses.  How are the working methods of these artists similar?  How do they differ?  What is the  intent of each artist with these pieces?  How do their intentions differ? How are they similar?

Q3

Photographic Truth The late 1700’s and early 1800’s were a period of intense scientific investigation. Because of the need for a more scientific method of observation, early photographs or “drawings with light,” were considered objective and truthful. Around the time that Henry Peach Robinson made his famous photograph entitled  Fading Away (1858), which was constructed from 5 separate negatives, there was already conflict between the “art” and “science” of photography.

Are photographs objective truths? Discuss the photographs of contemporary photographers Sandy Skoglund, Cindy Sherman and Jerry Uelsmann in this context. Refer to the websites below and choose an image by each artist to illustrate your discussion.  Research the working methods of each artist -  how do their working methods deal with the idea of photographic truth?  Choose images that have not already been discussed by someone in the class. Attach your images to your post to make  discussion easier.

After watching either Perfect Blue (1997) or The Bodyguard (1992), reflect on the portrayal of obsessive fan behavior in the film. In your video response, address the following questions:

1. How does the film you chose depict the escalation of fan behavior from admiration to obsession? Provide specific examples from the movie.

2. What factors contributed to the criminal behavior displayed by the fan(s) in the story? Consider psychological, societal, and cultural influences.

3. Do you think the portrayal of fan behavior in the film is realistic or exaggerated? Why or why not?

4. Reflect on the broader implications of criminal fan behavior. What lessons can we draw from these films about the relationship between celebrities and their fans in the age of social media?
